Dr. Steven L. Berk Passes Away

Dr. Steven L. Berk has passed away. The long-time Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Executive Vice President and School of Medicine Dean died unexpectedly on May 26th.
TTUHSC President Dr. Lori Rice-Spearman said, “Under his leadership, the School of Medicine grew and built strong relationships with our hospital partners. His approach to addressing the need for primary care physicians led to the creation of a unique Family Medicine Accelerated Track, the first program of its kind in the country.”
Dr. Berk joined the faculty of TTUHSC in 1999 and has held many positions since. He was appointed dean of the School of Medicine in 2006 and executive vice president for Clinical Affairs in 2010.
