APD Officer Passed This Week Due to Complications

Unfortunate news today from the Amarillo Police Department as they announced the passing of Sgt. Raquel Saunders.

She died due to complications with COVID-19, according to APD.

Saunders was with APD for 23 years and was most recently serving as a detective in the Domestic Violence Investigation Unit.

Saunders was a mother of four, two of which serve in Law Enforcement.

APD wishes for privacy for her family in their time of loss, and their thoughts are for her family and friends.
