West Texas A&M University has announced its intentions to rename one of the college’s schools thanks to a generous $5 million donation.
Thanks to this, and every contribution from the Rogers family, the College of Education and Social Sciences is being renamed the Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences.
Dr. Walter Wendler, President of WT talked about the importance of this moment for the future of the school and the college as a whole.
The namesake for the school and longtime educator Terry Rogers expressed her appreciation and admiration for WT’s program.
A portion of this gift will be used to establish 20 scholarship funds within the Department of Education for nontraditional students, and another part will go toward outreach programs for teachers and administrators in rural schools.
