WT Gift Received to Reopen Old Ed

West Texas  A&M University has announced plans to renovate and rename the second oldest building on campus.

The Education Building, which has been out of use for several years, will be renovated to support new infrastructure and programs and renamed the Geneva Schaeffer Education Building. 

Dr. Walter Wendler, WT’s President talked about the plans for the future.

With three stories and over 60,000 square feet, the space will be modified to accommodate the Graduate School and be the hub for WT’s distance education, as well as office and learning spaces. 

The $2.5 million donation made by the Schaeffer Family will also go to 2 new scholarship endowments, The Geneva Schaeffer Excellence in Education Scholarship, and the Stanley Schaeffer Excellence in Business Scholarship.
