The Repeal Of Downtown Parking, A Local Version Of SB7 On Agenda For Tuesday

The agenda for Tuesday’s City Council meeting is filled with municipal building codes, both residential and commercial, that will be receiving their second and final readings, should the council choose to do so.

Items like these are generally voted on with a single vote.

Money for new furnishings for the Transit Multimodal Terminal, and the remodeling of the Amarillo Emergency Communications Center, which includes ergonomic consoles, are also listed.

Expect Interim City Manager Andrew Freeman to make an updated resolution supporting Senate Bill 7 which would prohibit employers from following COVID-19 mandates such as masking, vaccinations and shutdowns.

Freeman is also expected to address the repealing of paid parking in the downtown area.

The meeting will get underway at 3 p.m. Tuesday and can be viewed online.
