Police Caught Drugs Smuggled In Tire

A routine traffic stop led to a felony arrest on Wednesday thanks to the discovery of drugs. 

A Texas Highway Patrol trooper stopped a 2020 Hyundai Elantra in Oldham county at about 2 pm on I-40 near Vega.

The stop led to the discovery of three pounds of cocaine sealed inside the spare tire of the vehicle.

The driver from Freeport Florida was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and has been booked into the Oldham County Jail. 

The drugs were reportedly being moved from Hesperia, California to Freeport, Florida.
