Officers Learn Of Shooting While At Hospital

Amarillo police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 2:30 Friday morning near a food truck on Amarillo Boulevard.
Officers learned of the shooting while at an area hospital where they were told a gunshot victim had been brought in by private vehicle. That person’s injuries were described as non-life threatening.
The shooting allegedly took place in the area of East Amarillo Boulevard and North Bivins Street. Witnesses there say they heard three gunshots before seeing the victim being rushed to the hospital.
No suspect is in custody at this time and the APD’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
