Car Crash in Castro County Leaves 1 Wounded, 1 Dead

The Texas Department of Public Safety were on the scene of a deadly crash taking place early Thursday morning eight miles west of Hereford.
On US highway 60, 46 year old Adelita Medeles was driving a tow truck at a speed of 75 mph, entering into the left turning lane with preparation to turn onto FM 1057. When approaching the turn, she came to a stop waiting for a train to cross the intersection.
She was later hit from the right rear side by 39 year old Rachel Martinez, failing to drive in a single lane, as well as having no control of her speed.
Martinez was pronounced dead on the scene, with the crash still being under investigation by Castro County Law Enforcement.
