New Mental Health Program Offered at Amarillo College

A new mental health program is being offered at Amarillo College.

Created by Workforce Solutions Panhandle, in collaboration with the Panhandle Behavioral Health Alliance, the six week certification course will prepare students in mental health services with the goal of becoming certified Mental Health Technicians, with 48 hours of in-person learning, and 72 hours of “hands on experience” with a healthcare center.

After the course is completed, graduates will be working directly with various physicians, counselors, psychiatrists, and social workers to help patients dealing with disabilities, illnesses, or addiction.

For more information on the program, contact Student Development Coordinator, Robyn Combs at 806-354-6088. Or to know more about Workforce Solutions Panhandle, visit www.wspanhandle.com
