Amarillo To Begin Surprise Inspections On Massage Establishments

The City of Amarillo will start executing surprise inspections on area massage establishments March 1.

The ordinance governing these establishments went into effect at the start of the new year. The Amarillo ordinance supplements the state’s requirements as put forth by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Among the new changes is that all such applications are to be completed annually, and establishments are to provide employee records, including a copy of a state-issued ID for owners and employees. 

Applications can be picked up at the City Marshal’s Office or online at amarillo.gov/city-marshal.
