Vandalism at Amarillo Two Oldest Churches

Two of Amarillo’s oldest churches have been vandalized.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist and Carter Chapel CME Church had their stained glass windows broken out on Saturday night.

Both churches have been around for 100 years.

Carter Chapel Church historians say the stained glass windows are original windows from when the church was built.

They go on to say the windows can be replaced but never duplicated.

Pastor Thomas Sands with Mount Zion says this is not the first time the church has fallen victim to vandalism and hopes the suspects are brought to justice and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
