Technology Keeping WT Students Safe

The upgraded SafeZone app will provide West Texas A&M students with a direct line to campus police while, at the same time, allowing police to push out notices to students.

Assistant chief of WT police, Kyle Hawbaker, notes that with students being continuously glued to their phones, this app is a natural choice as everyone is so device-oriented today.

When a student engages the app in a time of need, it pinpoints that location so university police know where to respond.

The SafeZone app also features other student and campus-friendly tools designed to keep everyone safe and improve response time.

The app is available at any app store. WT students simply need to use their campus credentials.
