Police Stop Leads to Arrest for Several Violations

Amarillo Police arrested a man involved with the theft of a trailer Friday evening.

They received a call from someone following a white Ford F-250 with a utility bed and was told that was the same truck that stole his trailer the previous day.

This same truck has also been identified with several other trailer thefts in the Amarillo area.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle along Mockingbird Lane, and the driver was found to have been in violation of his parole.

Officers looked inside the vehicle and found a handgun, Methamphetamine, multiple sets of car keys, tools commonly used for catalytic converter thefts, and identification not belonging to the suspect.

He was arrested for a parole violation, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance and is now booked into Randall County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be filed.
