More Jobs Set to Come to Amarillo in the Form of New Job Training

During Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the council agreed by a unanimous vote to help create more jobs here in Amarillo.

Agreements have been made by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation and both the Texas Workforce Committee and Amarillo College to provide job training in multiple high-demand fields.

For AC, this agreement for them will come in the form of what will be called an Innovation Outpost, a new facility set to be renovated by spring of next year for current and incoming students.

With the TWC, they will fund $150,000 to the five school districts in the area and will specialize in Career and Technical Education.

AEDC President and CEO Kevin Carter spoke more about the importance of having this training available, especially for the youth in our community.
