Moore County Accident Leads To Injury And Fatality

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the scene of a crash that occurred on the 18th at 4:30 PM.

A Kia was traveling east on FM 281 in Moore County when it attempted to pass another vehicle and merged into the opposing lane.

It collided with a westbound Toyota head-on. 

Both drivers were seriously injured and taken to the hospital, and the passenger of the Toyota, 42-year-old Arturo Duran-Ortiz died on the scene.

The incident is still under further investigation.
