Money And Drugs Found In Traffic Stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety just seized over $100,000 in cash as well as 4 grams of suspected cocaine after a Texas Highway patrol stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

Monday, October 17th, at approximately 3:20 PM, a DPS Trooper stopped a 2019 Buick Envision traveling west on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. 

During the stop, the trooper found a small plastic bag of cocaine and then discovered plastic-wrapped cash bundles in the vehicle’s rear area.

DPS Special Agents were contacted and assisted with the investigation.

The driver, Francisco Lopez, was arrested and charged with money laundering and possession of a controlled substance, both of which are felonies. 

Lopez was transported and booked into the Carson County Jail.

This Investigation is still ongoing.
