Man Arrested After Church Fire

A man has been charged with the Thursday evening church fire in Amarillo with first degree arson.

24 year old Ernesto Pena is facing first degree felony charges in the blaze that consumed the Community of Christ Church near South Manhattan Street and I-40at 10;38 p.m.

Amarillo Police say the fire was so severe and the building sustained such a large amount of damage it is believed to be a total loss

Pena is in the Potter County Jail in lieu of a 50- thousand dollar bond.
