KGNC Continues Celebrating 100 Years of Serving the Panhandle

Wednesday, May 18th, KGNC held our official 100th birthday bash where we not only celebrated 100 years of serving the Texas Panhandle, but also inducted four deserving individuals into our Hall of Fame.

Morgan Tanner, DJ Stubben, OJ Johnson and Charlie Singleton were all recognized for their decades of work and service with KGNC, and will have their pictures displayed in our lobby.

Among the large number of guests who attended was Ginger Nelson, the Mayor of Amarillo and a long-time listener of the station.

Mayor Nelson was kind enough to share some words about what makes KGNC special, and why we have managed to stick around so long.

The fun doesn’t stop there though, as we still have multiple events we’d like you to join us for.

Saturday, June 11th we will be at the Amarillo Community Market hosted by Center City of Amarillo from 8am until 12:30pm.

The final celebration will be the following Saturday, June 18th at Starlight Ranch as part of the Amarillo Crawfish Festival.

Tickets are $30 for general admission, and will include two pounds of crawfish, live music from Touching Voodoo and Bad Moon Rising, face painting, photo booths and more.
