Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office Investigating The Shooting Of Two Dogs

The Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting of two dogs over the weekend in Frith.

Officials were called out to 136 Ranch Road in Fritch where a dog had been found with gunshot wounds and learned someone had tried to get into a backyard by opening the gate, and two dogs began barking so the person left the gate open and left.

Both dogs ended up leaving the yard and were shot.

One of the dogs was found and was taken to the vet, with wounds in the left leg and abdomen.

The dog Cooper was shot once with a BB gun and twice with a 22 at close range.

The owners of the dogs are currently out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the Borger Animal Shelter Advocate Page is asking for donations to help with Cooper’s medical expenses.

If you have any information about the shooting, call the Sheriff’s Department at (806) 274-6343.
