The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers have seized more than nine pounds of methamphetamine and recovered a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop on Friday.

Troopers say the traffic stop happened at 2;53 in Wheeler County, when a 2018 Nissan Rogue was stopped on I-40 near Shamrock on a traffic violation.

During the stop a trooper found bundles of Meth hidden inside the fender wells.

The investigation further showed the car was stolen.

The driver of the vehicle is identified as 50 year old Gregory Rodriguez of Hacienda Heights, California and a passenger in the car 54 year old Dana Vioronet of El Monte, California.

Both are charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and are booked into the Randall County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Henderson, Nevada to Tullahuma, Tennessee.
