DPS Seizes 68 Pounds Of Suspected Meth

Texas DPS seizedĀ  68 pounds of suspected methamphetamine Saturday during a traffic stop in Oldham County.

The traffic stop happened on I-40 in Vega at 9:00 a.m. when a trooper stopped a 2011 Mazda traveling eastbound for a traffic violation. During a search the trooper found many plastic wrapped packages of meth inside all four tires.

The Driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old Wendy Lopez of Menifee, California,was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for felony possession of a controlled substance.

DEA Agents and Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agents took over the case after further investigation.

The drugs, valued at an estimated 2.5 million dollars, were reportedly being transported from Tijuana Mexico to Oklahoma City
