CoA Postponing Covid-19 Vaccines Starting Wednesday, January 6th

The City of Amarillo’s Public Health Department is postponing further Covid-19 immunizations starting Wednesday, January 6th.

The City says they will start the walk-in process again pending the next shipment of vaccines from the state health department.

City Officials say there have been an average of thousands of vaccines given out since December 30th.

Amarillo Mayor Ginger Nelson. “The governor knows that Amarillo has the best model for vaccine deployment. He knows that we are vaccinating the entire Texas Panhandle and not just the residents of Amarillo. He knows the urgency. I am confident that the governor will continue to provide the vaccine quickly. The minute we get more vaccine delivered, we will get the doors open and the wheels rolling again.”
