COA Hosting Route 66 Celebration

The City of Amarillo has announced Route 66 will have a new symbol honoring its legacy in Amarillo.

The Route 66 Water Tower Celebration is set to be held on March 29th at 3913 Sixth Avenue and will feature the debut of the repainted Route 66 logo on a water tower.

The chosen tower is located near 6th Street and Independence street and is possible thanks to a collaboration between the city, Dixie Painting, and several other organizations in the community.

The celebration will be free and open to the public and will include refreshments, music from artist Andy Chase, and more.
