Center City of Amarillo Receives Accreditation

Center City of Amarillo has been designated as an Accredited Main Street America program for meeting rigorous performance standards.

Center City of Amarillo started in 1996 and became a Main Street City in 2002. Center City has received this accreditation for 20 consecutive years.

Beth Duke, executive director of Center City says Center City is proud of our continuous designation as a Main Street City.

Since 1996, Center City has invested more than $1.4 million back in downtown in façade grants.

Center City is a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Ed Dowdy serves as president of Center City. Center City board members and other volunteers donated 774 volunteer hours in 2021.

Center City charts investment in the downtown district. In 2021, Center City documented $105 million in downtown investment including more than $43 million in private investment and $30 million in partnerships.
