Area Fire Crews Continue To Contain Fires In The Panhandle

State, Federal and Local Fire Crews are continuing to fight active grass fires taking place in the panhandle.

Texas A&M Forest Service said thanks to winds diminishing over night, crews were able to make major advances to contain the fires.

Active Fires include:

The North 207 Fire in Carson County has burned an estimated 15,000 acres and is 30% contained.

The Parker Creek Fire in Oldham County has burned an estimated 7,000 acres and is 75% contained.

Crews will be focusing today on improving containment lines, working as direct as possible along the fire’s edge along with patrolling and mopping up the fire areas.
