APD Warning Of Xcel and Atmos Energy Scam

The Amarillo Police Department is warning the community of a scam involving Xcel and Atmos Energy.

The caller is telling citizens that they are behind on their bill and that if they don’t pay their service will be disconnected.

Neither Xcel or Atmos Energy will call you and threaten to cut off your utilities without a warning first.

APD says do your own investigation and if it seems unusual don’t follow with it or you can contact the Amarillo PD Public Information Office at 806-378-4257.
