Alcohol And Speed Factors In Early Sunday Morning Crash

Two people are dead after one drove headfirst into another vehicle just before 2 am Sunday.
The Amarillo Police Department was called out to the 8500 block of I-27 where Anthony Michael Lara had been driving a 2006 Nissan Armada southbound in the northbound lanes.
He drove headfirst into a 2012 Nissan Murano killing Eliel Alfonso Morales, a 37-year-old male of Amarillo. Lara also died in the accident.
The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department continues to investigate the crash but says alcohol and speed are factors in this crash.
