$5.3 Million Approved For City Fueling Centers

The city has approved $5 million for two fueling centers officials say will increase turnaround times and efficiency for city vehicles.

Managing Director of Public Works, Donny Hooper, says the city is excited about the move, adding, “It’s been a long time coming for us and it’s just going to be a way for us to do better business for the citizens of Amarillo.”

Hooper added the funds were approved in the recent budget process. The council approved the awarding of the contract to Tri-State General Contracting Group, Inc. last week.

Construction is expected to take a little over a year for both locations.
