2019 Amarillo Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration

The Amarillo Branch of the NAACP’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, January 21st.

The public is to gather at the MLK Park located at 1501 West Amarillo Boulevard. At 11:30 a.m., the march to the Potter County Courthouse will take place, followed by a program at noon.

The keynote speaker for the event is Reverend Nell Newton, speeches by Amy Taylor and Melodie Graves, along with a musical performance by Devlon Jones.

There will also be an induction of incoming NAACP officers and Committees by the Potter County Commissioner Mercy Murguia.

The closing remarks will be made by Amarillo Branch NAACP’s President, Floyd Anthony.
