WT Textbook Free Policy Requires Some Modification

The textbook-free policy recently put forth by WTAMU President Dr. Walter Wendler has required some modification after faculty expressed some logistical concerns.

The idea of the program was to cut costs for all undergraduate program textbooks, making them free to students. After the Faculty Senate wondered if it restricts the ability to choose its own materials, and how does it; what does it do for the reputation of the university, Wendler modified it.

Said Dr. Wendler, “We will have all of the one thousand and two thousand level courses where textbooks and related materials will not be charged to the students.”

Some faculty still have concerns.

Dr. Wendler’s textbook-free policy will go into effect next fall, eliminating core class textbooks for all students.
