United Way Youth Leadership Day

More than 350 students from area high schools are expected to take part in the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon’s Youth Day.

The event is taking place on October 27 and will include students from Amarillo ISD Bushland, Canyon, River Road, Highland Park, as well as Ascension Academy

Students will be able to participate in hands-on activities for community concerns like putting together care kits for families fighting homelessness, listening to community leaders, and having a chance to interact and volunteer with local community programs.

Last year virtual Youth Leadership Day took in more than 78 thousand dollars that were allocated to local programs and projects.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be announced in the spring of 2023.
