South Nelson Street Fire

A structure fire at 1720 South Nelson Street happened at 6:48, Monday morning.

Amarillo fire responded to the blaze in the vicinity of I-40 and Nelson and when fire crews got there they found flames showing from the roof of the back of the commercial structure.

They had to cut through a chain link fence and forced entry into the back door of the metal building.

Fire crews were able to put the blaze quickly before it could spread.

They’ve determined the fire was just inside the back door in the ceiling of a bathroom. No occupants or injuries were caused.
