Randall County Looking For Asst Criminal D.A’s

Because of a serious backlog in cases, Randall County is looking for two additional Assistant Criminal D.A’s.

Before the pandemic, the commissioners granted the efforts to lower the backlog of cases due to Covid-19

The Commissioners also say before the pandemic there were 186 jury trials in the Lone Star State each week, but that number dropped to 4 jury trials each week, during Covid.

The biggest problem the office is dealing with is handling cases they had on the docket on March !st 2020, but also cases that built up over the last two years.

Besides the backlog of court cases, Randall County is also dealing with jail over crowding and they’re not the only county affected.
