“Point-In-Time” Count Presented During City Council

As the number of individuals in our city who are homeless unfortunately increases, steps are being made to resolve this issue– as explained during Tuesday’s Amarillo City Council meeting.

This meeting saw number totals be presented in the most recent “Point-in-time” count, a report detailing the number of homeless people both sheltered and unsheltered that reside in Amarillo.

We spoke to Director of Community Development Jason Riddlesuprger about how this count came to be.

With a total of 87 volunteers helping with this count, Riddlespurger spoke about how great it is to see that type of care within the community.

Over 692 people were totaled in this count. And even with Transformation Park coming to the city very soon, the answer to this problem remains the same.
