Pampa ISD Issues Lock down Of School During Police Incident

A police incident prompted a school shutdown in Pampa.

At 11:30 a.m. on Monday, the Gray County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to an alleged suicidal subject in the Walnut Creek Addition located north of Pampa.

A court-ordered mental health evaluation had been issued at the request of a family member.

The sheriff’s office was told the subject was armed with various firearms. The subject refused to come outside and speak with deputies when asked.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene including the Pampa Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Pampa EMS, Pampa Fire, Pampa EOC, Gray County Constable, Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Office.

Pampa ISD issued a lockout at Pampa Junior High School due to the situation

After 5 hours, the subject came out without incident or injury and was taken for a preliminary evaluation.
