One Dead Following Crash Near Spearman

Texas Department of Safety officials report a Guymon man is dead following a wreck near Spearman Monday.

55-year-old Luis Companiononi-Borges of Guymon was southbound on FM3214 in a Freightliner towing a semi-trailer at an unsafe speed, navigating a series of curves. At one point, he lost control of his truck, rolling it before it slid into the back of an unoccupied Dodge Durango.

Companioni-Borges was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The accident was investigated by the Texas Highway Patrol.
