One Dead After Car Wreck Near Hedley

Texas Department of Public Safety officials say a car wreck near Hedley killed one man on Sunday.

 

The wreck happened at 12:50 a.m. on U.S. 287, when The driver going westbound on 287 hit a wild animal in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle.

 

Twenty-Two-year-old Edwin Padilla-Mejia, a passenger in the vehicle, was thrown out of the vehicle after it rolled over. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

 

He was air-lifted to the hospital where he later died of life-threatening injuries.

 

The driver of the vehicle received non-life-threatening injuries and the threat is under investigation
