New Mexico Motorcycle Accident Claims Life Of Amarillo Man

A motorcycle accident in New Mexico Wednesday claimed the life of an Amarillo man.

Officials say the call came in around 12:24 yesterday afternoon and officers went to the scene on State Road 104 near mile marker 52, not far from Trementina, N.M.

According to the report, 46-year-old Damon Herbert of Amarillo was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson behind a 2008 Dodge pickup when the driver of the truck slowed to turn into a driveway. As the truck slowed to make the turn, it appears Herbert tried to pass in the opposite lane, hitting the truck from the side.

Herbert was pronounced dead at the scene.
