National Police Week Honors Everyday Heroes

We honor those men and women who keep us and our community’s safety.

National Peace Officers Memorial Day is May 15 as a part of National Police Week.

On Wednesday, May 15, combined Honor Guards from the Amarillo Police Department, Potter, and Randall County Sheriff’s Offices and the Department of Public Safety will host the annual Wreath Memorial Ceremony.

The event will be at Llano Cemetery at 5:30 p.m. and will include the presentation of colors, Star-Spangled Banner, a 21-gun salute and Taps.

In the event of inclement weather, the memorial will be held at Comanche Trail Church of Christ, 2700 South East 34th.
