Cardinals Take QB Murray With #1 Pick In NFL Draft
(Nashville, TN) — Kyler Murray is the top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Arizona Cardinals took the Oklahoma quarterback first overall at the draft in Nashville. Murray is the first athlete ever to be chosen in the first round of both the MLB and NFL Drafts. Murray was taken by the Oakland A’s in the MLB Draft last year, but has decided to pursue a career in pro football.
No Picks For Cowboys On Day One
(Nashville, TN) — The Dallas Cowboys did not have a pick in the first round of the NFL Draft yesterday. The Cowboys traded their 2019 first-rounder to Oakland for receiver Amari Cooper last season. The draft continues today in Nashville with rounds two and three. The Cowboys own the 58th and 90th overall picks.
Texans Take Howard In First Round Of NFL Draft
(Houston, TX) — The Texans selected Alabama State offensive tackle Tytus Howard with the 23rd selection in the first round of the NFL Draft. Howard is a 6’5 and 322-pound prospect that rose up draft boards after an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl. He is considered of the most athletically gifted prospects at his position.
Houston’s Oliver Taken By Bills
(Nashville, TN) — University of Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver was taken with ninth overall pick by the Buffalo Bills. Oliver was one of the top draft prospects on the board in Nashville. The defensive lineman was one of the most explosive players in college football during his time with the Cougars.
TCU’s Collier Drafted By Seahawks
(Nashville, TN) — TCU defensive end L.J. Collier is heading to Seattle. Collier was drafted 29th overall in round one by the Seahawks yesterday. Collier recorded six sacks for the Horned Fogs last season.
Spurs Top Nuggets Force Game Seven
(San Antonio, TX) — The Spurs overcame 43 points from Nikola Jokic as they topped the Nuggets 120-103 in Game Six of their first-round playoff series in San Antonio. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan added 25 points. The series is tied at three with Game Seven tomorrow in Denver.
Rockets Travel To Bay Area, Expecting To Take On Warriors

Sod Poodles, Cardinals Split Series in Springfield
Springfield, Missouri – The Sod Poodles fell on Thursday night in their series finale against the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field, 8-0. The two teams split a four-game set. Emmanuel Ramirez was unable to get out of the first inning after allowing four runs, including a bases-clearing double from Jose Godoy to give Springfield a 4-0 lead in the first.The Sod Poodles continue their road trip on Friday evening as they begin a four-game series against the Arkansas Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park. (Kansas City, MO) — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will grace the cover of the popular sports video game Madden 20 this upcoming season. After a stellar season that saw Mahomes win the MVP and the Chiefs reach the AFC Championship Game, EA Sports will put the star quarterback on the cover of its annual video game. Celtics Legend John Havlicek Passes Away
(Jupiter, FL) — The Boston Celtics are mourning the loss of Hall of Famer John Havlicek. The team announced last night that he passed away at the age of 79 in Jupiter, Florida. Havlicek spent 16 seasons in Boston from 1962 to 1978 and was a 13-time All-Star. He averaged over 20 points for his career and helped the Celtics win eight NBA championships.
