DPS Canine Screening Leads to Huge Drug Seize at Bus Station

The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Canine Unit seized more than 48 pounds of methamphetamine at a local bus station Tuesday afternoon.

Stashed in six plastic wrapped bundles, a bus had come in originally from Los Angeles California, making multiple stops before arriving in Amarillo.

It was from a screening of the baggage area by the unit after the arrival that the canine had alerted of a suspicious suitcase that contained the bundles.

The suspect has yet to be located at this time.
