City of Amarillo Given Award for Budget Work

The city of Amarillo was recognized this week for their outstanding budget work.

The city was awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association, the highest honor recognizing governmental budgeting.

Amarillo was chosen from a group of over 1,700 qualified applicants.

In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as a financial plan, as an operations guide and as a communications device.
