City Expected To Approve FY23/24 Budget & More Tuesday

After a few weeks off, the Amarillo City Council will hold its regular meeting Tuesday and the Agenda features a long list of items that could prove time consuming.

Among the items that may generate the most interest and discussion from the council as well as the public are:

  • How funds from the American Rescue Plan Act are to be allocated.
  • The status of the Hollywood Road Wastewater Treatment Facility.
  • Upcoming Board and Commission appointments.
  • The Drive-Through component of the New City Hall Construction Project.

The council will vote on more than 20 Consent Items that include everything from additional land for the Buc-ee’s project, items for the Amarillo Police Department, including what appears to be  drones and a purpose-built Emergency Communications Vehicle.

Financial Data Management software and the re-introduction of the $91.5 thousand dollars to be paid to the Amarillo Globe-News for advertising are also listed.

The star of the show may be the approval of the 23/24 Fiscal Budget.

The meeting is set for a 3pm start at City Hall, third floor. View agendas and watch meetings live here.
