ARPA Funding will boost Amarillo Following Pandemic

In the aftermath of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the Amarillo economy is receiving federal relief thanks to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Designed to help government programs and initiatives, Amarillo is receiving $39.7 Million of relief, with $19.8 million already received. 

The money is allocated to various aspects of the city, including emergency services, park improvements, tourism, and wireless broadband infrastructure. 

Laura Storrs,  Assistant City Manager explained why the funds are going where they were.

She also explains the biggest allocation of the funds, lost revenue.
