After ten years, Amazon has ended its Amazon Smile program.
The program officially wrapped up on February 20th, and the end will have a definite impact on nonprofits in the Panhandle.
If you bought an item through Amazon Smile, .5% of the sale would be donated to a charity or nonprofit of your choice.
According to Amazon, over 400 million have been donated to charities throughout the U.S.
In the Panhandle area, the nonprofits Gracies Project and the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center are among those affected the most.
Officials at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Amarillo and Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum say they won’t feel the loss that much.
