Amarillo Encouraging Covid Shots and Boosters

The City of Amarillo officials are urging citizens to get their free Covid vaccines and boosters before a national emergency and public health declarations will expire on May 11.

The emergency declarations have allowed significant changes throughout the healthcare system, including the free distribution of vaccines and boosters, testing, and treatments. In addition, telehealth services were expanded, and Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) were extended to millions more Americans

Medicare and Medicare Advantage could also receive free at-home Covid tests and treatments and pay no cost-sharing.

Free vaccines and boosters are available Monday through Thursday with no appointment required at the Amarillo Public Health Department, located at 850 Martin Road and Amarillo Public Health mobile clinics.
