Amarillo Crime Stoppers 40th Anniversary

This June marks the 40th anniversary of Amarillo Crime Stoppers.

The organization has proudly served the Panhandle area since 1979.

Amarillo Crime Stoppers has reported on unsolved crimes, fugitives, and stolen vehicles.

“Since inception of the program we’ve had over 23,000 tips. Those tips have led to 4,496 arrests, and have cleared up 4,878 cases.” Said Corporal Scott Welling of the Amarillo Police Department, Criminal Prevention Unit- Amarillo Crime Stoppers.

Welling also said that they have recovered over four million dollars’ worth of stolen property and narcotics.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary for the month of June, every tip that leads to an arrest or recovery of stolen property will receive an extra $40 on top of the $1000 reward.
