US Navy AH-1Z Viper Attack Helicopter
A new contract for Bell Helicopter will bring more business to the Amarillo factory.
The U.S. Department of Defense announced a $440 million dollar contract for the company to build 25 more AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters for the Navy.
40 percent of the work will be done in Amarillo the rest will be done in the Fort Worth plant.
The helicopter is the only attack helicopter in the world with a fully integrated air-to-air missile capability.
