AISD Board Of Trustees Moves Forward With Business Of Education Kids

The Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees met Thursday evening in a special meeting.

And while the resignation of board member Renee McCown was on the agenda, it garnered the least amount of attention as it was accepted without incident.

Cristy Wilkinson was voted vice president of the board and Ms. Robin R Malone officially accepted the role of board president.

Malone says the board will be letting the community know soon about how they will be going about the process of finding two new board members who represent the district and the needs of students.

The main focus of the meeting was the recently passed Texas Legislation House Bill 3 and how it will affect 2019 2020 school budget and pay raises for teachers.
