17-Year-Old Found Guilty Of Social Media Threat

A 17 year old student has been found guilty after he posted on social media that he was going to kill everyone at his high school.

The Randall County District Attorney said that Daniel Scott Brown was charged with Felony Terroristic Threat after a two day jury trial.

He will serve two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and have 6 years probation but will not serve jail time if he cooperates with the terms of his probation, which include not possessing a firearm and mental health treatment.

The District Attorney’s Office said the case shows the quick work done by the staff at the Canyon Independent School District and the Canyon Police Department.
